Tillicoultry Estate is located in the Nuwara Eliya district, 2Km from the Lindula town and 7Km from Talawakelle Railway Station. The Estate covers an area of 377 hectares (930 acres), at an elevation between 4200 and 5000 feet above sea level. While mature tea plants cover most of the Esate, timber blocks cover an area of 42 hectares.
Up until 1975 and the Nationalisation of estates, Tillcoultry was owned by Dimbulla Valley Plantations Limited. From 1975 to 1992 the Estate was under the control of the Janatha Estate Development Board and was subsequently handed over to Horana Plantations PLC.
