True cinnamon originates from our island nation and has been at the epicenter of trade and foreign rule in ancient Ceylon. Highly prized for centuries mainly due to its enticingly delicate and unparalleled flavour. It was such a sought-after spice that there were conversations of ancient Arab traders spreading tales that it was derived from the sticks of a very rare bird’s nest. Done so to keep the source of this extraordinary spice of enchantment and natural healing a best kept secret from the world.

Today, in addition to cinnamon being used as a spice and flavoring agent, it is used for its pleasant fragrance and many health benefits. Cinnamon from our plantations is derived from the lush green scenery that surrounds our low country estates. They are either found on their own lands or intercropped with coconuts and cared for under the best agricultural practices.
