Originally Eildon Hall was owned by Lunuva (Ceylon) Tea & Rubber Estates Ltd and managed by Harrisons & Crossfields Ltd. Following the Reform Commission Act, the Estate was managed by the Janatha Estate Development Board. Subsequent to privatisation in 1992, the Estate was taken over by Horana Plantations PLC.
